Kanoon's Pier design

because Aj.Fredrik called it,

"Parasite Pier"

I focus on boat traffic and the pier user's problems.

Let's see, I shift the pier from the side to the middle of the canal (, this is my solutions for the boat traffic which I'm going to present a research about it + the circulation system).

And also change the entrance from the side on the ground to 5meters high at the middle of the original bridge. This is because there are as many people using this pier from Asoke side as from MRT side, and another reason is the current entrance now is a little bit dangerous. Because the users need to walk into a small soi in order to get in the pier and according to Tao's light research, there have no light source in the soi and all the shops are closed in the evening. Moreover, the current pier's entrance is really made the pier 'hard to see,' like, some of pedestrians may not even know there is a Sansap boat pier here. Then changing the entrance will not only solve the present users, but also invite more people to use this public transportation.

Still not sure about the chairs, I'm just thinking that this kind of chair I show here need low maintance, better in defining personal spaces, and prevent homelesses to use it as their sleeping places.

By the way, I'll think more about artificial lights in the pier since my pier is under the bridge and it might need some more light than the others' pier designs.

Perspective cross-section with details

My main idea on designing this pier is to make it's like 'a part of the bridge,' by using the same materials, styles, components (such as flowerpots, wires, street lamps, etc.) which I'm going to do the research about.
As you can see, I enlarge the pier signs, and this is because of Imm and Ploy's research about users' comments. They said that 10% of people complained on not clear informations/signs and I agreed so, because any new or not-very-frequent pier users will never know where they are unless they see the sign (which the current ones are sooooo small.)

I'm still not sure whether should I put a cover on it or not?

I'm thinking of, instead of normal concrete cover (since I'm focusing on using all the same material as the original bridge), I might try using flowerpots and vertical garden idea as a cover. I don't know. but, in my opinion, it looks awful and does not match with the bridge in any reason (unless we can build the cover for the whole side walkway of the bridge, it would be more reasonable).
(I also consider about the drainage system in raining.)

If you have any comments please let me know

Thank you!!
